Gilligan's Island is an American sitcom which aired for three seasons and a total of 98 episodes on CBS from 1964 to 1967. The first season was filmed in black and white while the other two were filmed in color and while the series was short-lived, it was very successful and was the inspiration for several spin-off series including The New Adventures of Gilligan and Gilligan's Planet. 

The show was centered around a crew and a group of passengers who embarked on what was supposed to be a three-hour tour from Honolulu.  Midway through their journey, they run into a tropical storm which leaves them shipwrecked on an uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean. While on the island, we meet characters like Gilligan, a clumsy and optimistic crewman who the show was named after, The Skipper who is the captain of the boat, Mr. and Mrs. Howell, an extremely wealthy couple, the Professor, Mary Ann Summers, Ginger Grant as well as many other supporting characters.
