About This Quiz

How much do you know about those zany girls from Milwaukee? Take this quiz to find out.

Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney, played by Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, respectively, was one of the most successful "Happy Days" spinoffs. Right up there in popularity, the show was set in the same time period, and "Laverne and Shirley" were introduced to the world as friends of "Happy Days'" Fonzie. The Fonz even occasionally appeared on "Laverne and Shirley."

We know how Penny Marshall got her role as Laverne: she was the sister of the show's creator, Garry Marshall. But Cindy Williams was almost lost to her role as Shirley. Williams originally declined to play Shirley in the "Happy Days" spinoff, but she eventually came around. Thank goodness! We can't imagine the roles of these two engaging characters being played by anyone else.

Creator, Garry Marshall, was also known for his work directing "Pretty Woman" and Runaway Bride as well as bringing Neil Simon's play "The Odd Couple" to the small screen (yes, we mean television). Clearly, Marshall had a golden touch.

"Laverne and Shirley" ran for eight seasons and 178 episodes and remains a popular syndicated show today.
