"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is a fantasy novel and the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series, written by British author J.K. Rowling. The award-winning book, which was published in 2005 sold over 9 million copies within the first 24 hours of being released, was noted for having a more ominous tone that its predecessors.
The book follows Harry and his friends during their sixth year at Hogwarts, as they prepare for the ultimate showdown. It also gives readers (and viewers) a more in-depth look at Harry's evil arch nemesis, Lord Voldemort. Readers discover the identity of the half-blood prince and learn the fate of Hogwart's favorite principal, Albus Dumbledore.
