For the Harry Potter fans out there, you might think you know everything there is to know about the series. Do you really? You might be well-versed in the world of the Golden Trio, but we're throwing a curve ball today. With the hundreds of characters in the Harry Potter world, can you name some of the most obscure?
In 1997, author J.K. Rowling introduced the world to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The novel follows a boy who discovers he's a wizard and is forced to risk his life for the future of the magical world. With this novel, Rowling introduced characters like Harry, Hermione and Ron. She would introduce other students like Neville Longbottom and Draco Malfoy. They would be taught by McGonagall and Snape, but don't forget our favorite Headmaster, Dumbledore.
These are some of the most iconic characters in the series, but this quiz isn't for them! In her seven novels, J.K. Rowling introduced over 100 characters. How well do you remember the minor characters?

Cedric Diggory was a Hufflepuff student who was loved by everyone. He was a school prefect, Quidditch Seeker and captain. Tragically, he was killed by Voldemort when the Triwizard Tournament cup was turned into a portkey and transported Cedric and Harry to a cemetery in Little Hangleton. Voldemort referred to him as "the spare."
Bellatrix Lestrange is a vile Death Eater who committed numerous heinous crimes, one of which was torturing Frank and Alice Longbottom into insanity. Frank and Alice were Neville Longbottom's parents.
Vincent Crabbe was the third bully in the Draco Malfoy and Gregory Goyle trifecta of bullies. The three of them would often roam around Hogwarts looking for students to terrorize.

Gellert Grindelwald is the powerful wizard Dumbledore defeated many years ago. He was since jailed, but his existence plays a crucial role in the shaping of the wizarding world.
Narcissa Malfoy was Lucius Malfoy's wife and Draco's mother. She is also Bellatrix Lestrange's sister.
Cho Chang was a student in the Ravenclaw house that Harry took a liking to. He procrastinated on asking her to the Yule Ball, so she went with Cedric Diggory. Later though, they shared Harry's first kiss under the mistletoe.

Igor Karkaroff is the headmaster at Durmstrang, one of the schools that competes in the Triwizard Tournament. He is also a reformed Death Eater.
Nymphadora Tonks can change her facial features at will, including changing the shape of her nose and the color of her hair. She also prefers to be called Tonks.
Rita Skeeter was a reporter for the Daily Prophet. While interviewing Harry during the Triwizard Tournament, her stories were generally inaccurate filled with falsehoods.

Professor Filius Flitwick was the Charms professor at Hogwarts and the head of the Ravenclaw house. He appears to be dwarf-like in stature, but his talents at Charms are impressive.
Albus Dumbledore convinces Horace Slughorn to return to Hogwarts and teach Potions. While he's there, he chooses certain high-profile students to join his special parties so he can brag that he knows them and take some credit for their successes.
Newt Scamander is the author of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." This is one of the textbooks that Harry and his friends are supposed to study.

Sybill Trelawney was the Divination professor at Hogwarts. Divination is the art of foretelling the future and making prophecies. Though she seemed talentless, she was the one to predict the prophecy that prompted Lord Voldemort to target the Potter family.
Antioch Peverell was the original owner of The Elder Wand. Cadmus Peverell owned The Resurrection Stone, and Ignotus Peverell owned The Invisibility Cloak.
Stan Shunpike is the friendly driver of the Knight Bus. He rescues Harry when he's alone in a dementor-ridden world, but Stan is later put in Azkaban for possibly being a Death Eater.

Fluffy was the three-headed dog who guarded the Sorcerer's Stone. He could be lulled to sleep with a bit of music.
Fang was Hagrid's dog, and though he appeared big and fierce, he was really a softy. Fang accompanied Hagrid, Draco, Harry, and the others into the Forbidden Forest in the Sorcerer's Stone.
Oliver Wood was captain of the Hogwarts Quidditch team when Harry was a first-year student. He gave Harry his first Quidditch lesson, teaching him what all the balls were and the positions on the Quidditch pitch. He had an eye for good players and knew that Harry would be a good Seeker.

Professor Gilderoy Lockhart was an arrogant, magical, celebrity author who claimed to have survived numerous dangerous situations and faced several unbelievable foes. Harry and his friends discovered his tales were taken from other whiches and wizards who had experienced them in real life.
Argus Filch was a Squib and the caretaker at Hogwarts. Though he isn't an evil person, he generally has an anti-student mentality and is thus disliked by the student body.
Helena Ravenclaw is also known as The Grey Lady, Ravenclaw's house ghost. She was the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw and stole her mother's diadem, which ended up being one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.

Madam Hooch was the flying instructor during Harry's first year at Hogwarts. She is one of the people who recognizes Potter's potential to be a Seeker.
Katie Bell was a Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. In "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," she attempts to deliver a cursed necklace to Dumbledore under the Imperius Curse. However, the necklace never reached its intended target after she accidentally touched it. It ended up being badly cursed for many months.
Aberforth Dumbledore was Albus Dumbledore's brother. He pretty much kept to himself, but he does end up helping Harry and his friends when the battle at Hogwarts looms.

Trevor the toad was Neville Longbottom's pet. He always seemed to be losing Trevor as Trevor was very quick on the uptake.
Peeves is a poltergeist who lives at Hogwarts and terrorizes students. In general, he is mischievous and is not on the students' side.
Fenrir Greyback was a werewolf working for the Death Eaters. His presence alone is enough to enforce certain things.

Romilda Vane tried to slip Harry a love potion through some Chocolate Cauldrons, but Ron got them instead and found himself blissfully in love with Romilda. Harry needed Professor Slughorn's help to snap him out of it.
Cornelius Fudge was the Minister for Magic in the first five Harry Potter books. His later denial of Voldemort's return caused him to get relieved from his post.
Marjorie, or Marge, Dursley, was the muggle sister of Harry's uncle, Vernon Dursley. She favored bulldogs and usually brought at least one with her wherever she went.

Grawp was Hagrid's giant, half-brother. He doesn't have much in the way of brains, but is harmless enough.
Ludo Bagman was one of the judges of the Triwizard Tournament and an oftentimes gambler. He owed some debts and bet on Harry to win the Triwizard Tournament, but he ended up running away after the third task with the tragedy that happened.
Frank Bryce was the muggle gardener for the Riddle family, which is not a family you necessarily want to be employed with. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" begins with an encounter with this man, a stark departure from how the previous books in the series began. Bryce is a muggle and has no knowledge of the wizarding world, and he meets an unfortunate end at the hands of Voldemort and Wormtail.

Sir Cadogan was the loopy and not at all threatening knight who guarded Gryffindor's common room portrait when the fat lady was attacked by Sirius Black in the third book of the series. Sir Cadogan was the only one who would take the job.
