They joined the Football League the very next year and went on to win the FA Cup in 1912. In the same year, they ended in sixth place in the league. This too was their best-ever league finish. The club is known as The Tykes to its supporters.

Playing from Bloomfield Road, their home since 1901, Blackpool Football Club represents the iconic holiday town of Blackpool, hence their nickname, the Seasiders. The Club was formed in 1887.
