In order to boost the League's image, Dottie does a split while catching a pop-fly behind home plate. This image lands on the cover of "Life" magazine and in turn draws more people in to see the games.

This is the start of the girls' league song that they sing in the locker room while they dress and prepare for their games. One of the women plays a small guitar while they sing.
Because of Kit's rivalry and jealousy of Dottie, she eventually is traded to the Racine Belles. Kit is furious and Dottie is upset because she actually told the league to trade her, not her sister.

Dottie and Kit make a run for the train in their long skirts. They throw their suitcases and grab hold as best as they can. They are completely winded when they meet up with Ernie. "Did you promise the cows you'd write?"
As her father, he wants the best for Marla. He apologizes that she doesn't have the prettiest look because her mother passed away and this was all he knew.
The Racine Belles win the World Series, thanks to Kit. Kit is the final batter. She ignores the coach's signal from the third baseline and knocks right into Dottie at the plate, who then drops the ball.

Evelyn is portrayed by actress Elizabeth Natalie "Bitty" Schram. She is best known for playing Sharona Fleming in the TV series "Monk."

Jimmy yells at Evelyn after she threw the ball in the wrong direction, with a runner on base. She starts crying and he starts shouting, "There's no crying in baseball!"
This actually happened in real life. The players for the AAGPBL were sent to the Helena Rubenstein Beauty Salon for a makeover, as well as the Evening Charm school for proper etiquette, hygiene and dress code.
All of the women had to line up at the beauty school for final approval. They were all complimented, but when the camera got to Marla, the headmistress was basically at a loss for words.

"A League of Their Own" was released on July 1, 1992, in the United States. It grossed more than $132 million at the box office and was made with a $40 million budget.
Specifically, the year was 1943 and the United States was at the height of its involvement in the war. The military draft caused many of the most prominent baseball players to head off to war.
